Anthony Ang

Anthony is an experienced Air Traffic Controller with a demonstrated history of working in the Aviation and Engineering industry.  Skilled in Engineering, Training and Air Traffic Control.

Previously a Senior Associate Engineer in Singapore Technologies Kinetics, a strong interest in the Aviation industry prompted him to do a career switch in 2006.  He is currently a Master Air Traffic Control Officer in the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS).

Anthony is conversant with Arrival Manager (AMAN), Pre-departure Sequencer and Arrival Flow Planner.  Having obtained Changi Aerodrome Control rating, Singapore Approach Control (Procedural) rating and Singapore Approach Control (Surveillance) rating.  He took on various appointment such as, On-Job-Training Instructor, Safety Officer, AMAN Trainer and On- Job-Training Instructor Leader.

With a vast experience and strong interest to improve the Aviation industry in the Asia Pacific Region, he embarked on his journey as a Technical Secretary and currently the President of the Air Traffic Controllers Association (Singapore).  Under his guidance, the Association steers towards increasing the member’s professional knowledge and expand their network worldwide.

With the recognition and support from the Asia Pacific Region, Anthony took on a new role with the International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers’ Associations (IFATCA) in 2019 as an Executive Vice President Asia Pacific.

With the slogan of “One Sky - One Voice”, Anthony hopes to unite the Voices of Asia Pacific Region together with the aviators in Asia Pacific Region into one common Sky.

Role and Responsibilities

The Executive Vice-President Asia and Pacific shall be:

  • responsible for liaison with Member Associations within the Asia andPacific Region;
  • ex-officio member of any committee of the Federation which may beassigned to the Asia and Pacific Region;
  • responsible for fostering contacts with non-member associations in theAsia and Pacific Region, and encouraging the affiliation of suchassociations;
  • responsible to oversee the activities of his region.
