International Federation of Air Traffic Controllers' Associations

As the Executive Vice-President Europe I am responsible for the liaison between all 46 European membership associations and the Federation. Furthermore I oversee the activities in this region and coordinate the One Sky Team, a team of IFATCA representatives attending workshops, consultation meetings and conferences held by major international organizations and agencies. I assist associations by providing information and advice when required.

In 1992 I completed an eight-semester course of university studies in Air Traffic and Air Transport Engineering for a degree. I acquired university qualifications and professional title of Graduate Transport Engineer. In 1993 I completed a 25 week aviation specialist training course to become an Air Traffic Controller. In 1996 I completed On-the-Job Training for Non Radar Air Traffic Controller License. In 1997 I completed a Course of Instruction in Area Radar Control in Serco-IAL Limited Bailbrook College, Bath, England. in 2000 I completed On-the-Job Training for Area Radar Air Traffic Controller License. In 2003 I completed the ATM qualification course On – The – Job Training Instructor by Deutsche Flugsicherung in class of Course Manager Mr. Kevin Salter (our Corporate Affairs Editor in The Controller magazine).

I became Deputy Head of ACC Zagreb on the 1st of January 2007. I am responsible for the roster for 186 Air Traffic Controllers and other Aeronautical Staff. In October 2008, I started to study for Doctoral Degree and I became PhD Candidate since then. Plan is to finish degree in 2011.

My engagement in professional association work began in 2003 when I joined the Executive Board of CROATCA as President. Holding this position in the subsequent years I have my second four years term till next year. I attend IFATCA conferences since 2004 and became increasingly involved in the last 4 years. Last year I was Deputy Chairman of Organizing Committee of 48th Annual IFATCA Conference in Dubrovnik. I was elected EVP Europe in Punta Cana in 2010 for a term of 2 years.

I am a Croatian national and live in Samobor/Croatia. I fully agree to be responsible for future organisation of how we will work within our fast changing European region. I am very happy to have the most experienced and capable associates with their involvement in SESAR, EASA, SES II, Social Dialogue, FABs as experts and coordinators.

It is most important that we continue to work more flexible and efficient with re-arrangement of our teams. All of you can count on my full commitment to the Federation and you can be sure that I will be your partner, but I also want to have as many as possible associates among you.
